# UV printing on metal

## Overview

A bare metal surface, painted panel and coated promotional item can respond differently to UV printing. Identify the metal and finish before selecting the process. The artwork should account for reflectivity, any white backing and the way the item is handled or installed after printing.

## What to check before approval

- Provide the metal type, coating and item dimensions.
- Mark the print area clear of folds, fasteners and functional parts.
- Describe exposure, handling and cleaning for suitability assessment.

## Prepare the production enquiry

Send Craftarea the drawing or sample, artwork and quantity. Confirm the proposed preparation and print layers, then review a sample for adhesion and appearance on the actual metal finish.
