# Packaging Stickers

Short answer

A packaging sticker can add branding and help close a box or bag. If opening detection is required, specify and test a suitable tamper-evident construction; an ordinary logo sticker does not automatically prove that a package was unopened. Select adhesive and face stock for the actual packaging and storage conditions.

A logo seal can brand existing packaging without printing the entire box. Closure and opening detection are separate requirements: state whether the sticker is decorative, structural or intended to show removal. ## Three functions in one sticker

A sticker may provide branding, closure or visible evidence of opening, but those functions require different checks. A decorative seal may peel off intact. If tamper evidence matters, agree a destructible, void or other suitable construction and test it on the actual package. Adhesion, the opening path and removal behaviour should be reviewed together.

## Material by packaging type

Choose the face material, adhesive, ink and any laminate as a compatible system for the actual surface and exposure. Water resistance, UV resistance, cleaning tolerance and service life are separate properties; confirm the product specification and test the intended application where needed. For packaging, supply the actual box, bag or bottle surface and distinguish application temperature from later storage conditions.

## Food products: what is and is not covered

An important distinction: we print stickers for the outer surface of packaging, not for direct food contact. The sticker goes on the outside of a box, bag or bottle — not on the product itself or the inner face of packaging where it would touch food. This is standard practice and entirely sufficient for most food products. If your product requires certified direct-food-contact material, that is a separate requirement and must be discussed before ordering.

## Frequently Asked Questions

Will a paper sticker bond to a poly mailer?

The face stock alone does not determine adhesion to a poly mailer. Check the adhesive grade, plastic surface and any treatment or contamination; test the actual mailer before approving a run.

The sticker tears when the box is opened — is that normal?

It depends what you want. If the sticker is a tamper indicator, tearing is exactly the point. If you want the customer to open and reclose the box undamaged, you need removable adhesive material.

What size seal should I choose?

Large enough for the logo to read, but not so large that it overhangs the box fold. In practice 4-6 cm in diameter suits most boxes; 3 cm for small packaging.

Are gold or silver seals possible?

Yes, metallised material is available and gives packaging a premium look. It is used particularly often on gift and cosmetics packaging.

Should I get stickers on sheets or individually?

If staff will apply them quickly in volume, kiss-cut sheets are more convenient because the sticker peels off easily. If they are stored in different places, a full cut is better.

I want to use them in direct food contact — is that possible?

Our standard stickers are for the outer surface of packaging, not direct food contact. Material composition and any required certification documentation must be confirmed for the specific model and batch before ordering.
