Advertising Stickers With Your Logo
Short answer
An advertising sticker on a shop window, glass door or vehicle gives a brand permanent visibility. It is printed on vinyl with protective lamination and plotter-cut to the logo contour. On glass, clear material is usually used so no white background shows.
The advertising sticker is the cheap instrument that gives a brand everyday visibility — a logo on a shop window is seen by everyone who walks past, and on a vehicle the brand travels across the whole city. That makes it one of the highest-efficiency advertising channels available to a small business. This page covers what belongs on a shop window sticker, how to choose material for a vehicle, and which technical details determine how long a sticker lasts.

What belongs on a shop window sticker
A passer-by reads a shop window sticker in two or three seconds — so it should carry at most three blocks of information. The usual priority order is: logo or name (so the business is identified), a description of what it does (if the name does not make that clear), and something practical — opening hours or a phone number. A social media handle often beats a phone number when the business is active on Instagram. Everything else — prices, long lists, detailed descriptions — does not work on a window, because reading it requires stopping.
- Logo or name — identification
- What the business does — if not obvious
- Opening hours or phone
- Three blocks maximum — more goes unread
Vehicle stickers: what to plan for
A sticker on a vehicle faces the harshest conditions: sun, rain, car wash brushes, chemicals and constant temperature swings. Lamination here is not preferable but mandatory — without it the print fades and breaks up within months. The second important detail is the surface: the sticker must go on a flat or gently curved area; over deep recesses and edges it will inevitably lift. The third is size: on a moving vehicle text must read from three or four metres, meaning a letter height of at least 5-8 cm.
- Lamination — mandatory
- Flat or gently curved surfaces
- Deep recesses — the sticker lifts
- Letter height at least 5-8 cm
On glass: clear material and direction
A sticker with a white background always looks awkward on glass — the logo appears stuck onto a white card. So for shop windows we almost always use clear material, where solid colour appears only where the artwork is. If the logo is white or light-coloured, a white underbase is needed, otherwise it simply will not show on glass. The second decision is direction: outside application is simpler, while inside application protects the sticker from weather and damage — in that case the print must be mirrored, which has to be agreed before printing.
