Choose a banner, poster or sign from its location: indoor or outdoor use, viewing distance and fixing method. Match the material, image resolution and surface protection to those conditions. One letter-size formula cannot suit every sign; font, contrast, lighting and viewing angle also matter. What resolution does a banner need?
It follows viewing distance: 150 dpi from one to two metres, 100 dpi from three to five, and 72 dpi from ten metres and beyond. 300 dpi is an absurdly large file for a banner.
How large should the text be?
Choose letter size from the actual viewing distance, typeface, contrast, lighting and viewing angle. Review the full message at the intended scale; there is no single distance-to-letter-size formula that works for every sign.
Is lamination mandatory?
It depends on lifespan. A banner up for days does not need it; seasonal window graphics benefit from it; on permanent signs and vehicles we treat it as mandatory.
What is the safe area on a banner?
Roughly 10 centimetres from the edge, because that is where the hem and eyelets sit. Text in that zone is either covered or punched through by an eyelet.
Why is the bottom of a roll-up hidden?
The bottom 10-15 centimetres of the panel winds into the cassette and stays covered even when extended. Logos and contact details must never sit there.
Should I cover a shop window completely?
Usually not — full coverage darkens the interior. If full coverage is genuinely needed, perforated film is the only sensible option.
Is installation included in the price?
Installation is agreed separately, since it depends on the site, height and access. A quote normally covers production.
