'Signage' is one word covering entirely different tasks: a facade sign that must be visible from the street, a door number read from a metre, a desk plaque, and safety markings. Types and their requirements

A facade sign is the most demanding: it needs outdoor-grade material, weather-resistant printing and reinforced fixings. Door plaques (room numbers, job titles, company names) are indoor items where material choice is freer — acrylic and plastic are the most common. Desk plaques can be double-sided and are often made with their stand. Safety signage is a separate category: its symbols and colours are normally defined by standards, and we produce them to the specification you supply.

Printing, cutting or engraving

Three techniques give three different results. Printing is the most flexible: multi-colour imagery, photography, gradients — all possible, and it is the most economical option. Laser cutting cuts the shape itself: cut-out letters or a logo silhouette give a dimensional effect and read as considerably more valuable. Engraving leaves a mark in the surface — it works especially well on metal and acrylic and is the most durable, because the image is in the material rather than applied to it.

How do I determine the sign size?

Are 3D letters and signs the same thing?
No. A flat sign is one panel with printed or cut-out artwork; 3D letters are individual dimensional elements mounted separately on the facade that cast shadows. 3D costs more but is far more noticeable.
Do you install as well?
Installation is agreed separately and depends on the site — height, facade type and access determine what is needed. Fixing a simple indoor plaque is normally handled by the client.
Should the sign be visible at night?
If the business operates in the evening, lighting matters — an unlit sign is practically invisible at night. Lighting options must be discussed separately, since they involve structure and wiring.
Which material lasts longest?
Outdoors, composite and metal are the most stable. Plastic is cheaper but loses colour in sun over time. Acrylic is excellent indoors and needs more careful selection outdoors.
Can you cut to a logo shape?
Yes, by laser cutting — and it gives a considerably more valuable result than a flat printed sign. The logo must be vector and free of very fine elements.
