Acrylic

Here, acrylic means PMMA sheet used for signs, dimensional letters, displays and decorative components. Acrylic paint, textile fibre and PMMA sheet are different products; identify the intended item when making an enquiry. Sheet can be clear, coloured or translucent. Cast and extruded grades use different production methods, so processing should follow the particular sheet grade and supplier information. The names acrylic glass or plexiglass alone do not specify thickness, colour or performance. For a sign, decide whether you need transparency or light diffusion. For illuminated letters, agree the colour and lighting construction. Select thickness for the dimensions, mounting and load; one universal strength comparison or thickness is not suitable for every component. For cutting, provide dimensions, outlines, holes and quantity. For engraving or UV printing, specify the image side, visible face and colour requirements separately. Assess edge appearance and small details on a sample where needed. Agree fixing, cleaning products and environmental suitability against the chosen material specification. Do not substitute another clear plastic solely because it looks similar to PMMA.
